At GIMHS we work with ECFMG recognized and WFME/FAIMER accredited EU English-taught medical schools.

Degrees Awarded

European medical schools award Doctor of Medicine degree with different titles. For example in Ireland upon successful graduation from medical school some programs award a total of three degrees: Medicine (MB), Surgery (BCh), and Obstetrics (BAO), while others award a total of two degrees: Medicine (BM), and Surgery (BS). In the United Kingdom and other European countries some medical schools offer programs leading to the award of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery abbreviated in different ways as in MBBS, MB ChB, MB BCh, MB BChir (Cantab), BM BCh (Oxon), BMBS).

Either the Irish or the European degree award titles are all equivalent to Doctor of Medicine (M.D) which is awarded in the USA and Canada.
